The Fierce Knight is a blend of contemporary and traditional Staunton design featuring knights carved with realistic features including perked ears, eyes, mouth, and mane create a fierce looking countenance that gives this set its name. This is a thirty-four-piece set that includes two extra queens for pawn promotion. The ebonized pieces are lacquer polished to an obsidian black finish that is almost indistinguishable from real ebony. The king is 3.5 inch tall with a base diameter of 1.625 inch, the perfect size for casual chess games at home. Heavily weighted for exceptional stability, the pieces have thick green baize pads for a soft cushion on the chessboard. A Certificate of Manufacture is included so you will always know what the pieces are, when they were made, and where they came from.
