Handcrafted from premium veneer, this chessboard highlights the deep, rich hues of the walnut burl contrasted with the golden tones of the bird's-eye maple. The squares are surrounded with a wide black delimiter and a black border on the outside emphasizes the bird's-eye maple frame. A semi-gloss polyurethane finish both protects and enhances the color of the wood. The squares are 1.75 inch with an overall footprint of 19.5 inch. Reminiscent of the old heirloom quality chess boxes from years ago, the Bird's-Eye Maple Classic Chess Box is beautifully constructed. The box is covered in beautiful bird's-eye maple veneer that perfectly matches the chessboard squares and frame with a lustrous semi-gloss polyurethane finish.
