British Staunton Chess Set - Ebonized and Boxwood Pieces with Mahogany and Maple Molded Edge Board and Box - 3.5 inch King - This exquisite chess set includes our British Staunton with ebonized and natural boxwood pieces matched with our Mahogany and Maple Molded Chessboard and Classic Mahogany Chess Box. Our British Staunton draws inspiration from a vintage design originating from the old British Chess Company in the mid-1800s. Featuring a purely traditional Staunton design, the pieces are handcrafted one piece at a time just like they were over a hundred and twenty years ago. This is a thirty-four-piece set that includes two extra queens for pawn promotion. The king is 3.5 inch-tall with base diameter of 1.5 inch making it ideal for chess games at home. The pieces are heavily weighted for exceptional stability and have thick green baize pads on the bottom for a soft cushion on the chessboard. A Certificate of Manufacture is included so you will always know what the pieces are, when they were made, and where they came from. This Mahogany and Maple Molded Edge Chessboard from Rechapados Ferrer combines classic design with elegant features to create an eye-catching battlefield for your chess game. This is an inlaid chessboard handcrafted from high quality mahogany and maple veneer and sealed with a polyurethane finish that both protects and enhances the beauty of the wood.
