Our Bohemian draws inspiration from a vintage German design of the 1950s, showcasing a distinctive knight with enchanting dragon-like features. This is a thirty-four-piece set that includes two extra queens for pawn promotion. The pieces are handcrafted from boxwood with the ebonized pieces stained and polished to a lustrous black ebony-like finish. This is a large, tournament size set with a 4-inch-tall king. The pieces are heavily weighted for exceptional stability and have thick green baize pads on the bottom for a soft cushion and that allow the pieces to slide smoothly across the chessboard. The simplistic but elegant elements of this unique design from king to pawn allow the game itself to be the focus of attention while enhancing every move. Our Santos Rosewood and Maple Deluxe Chessboard from Rechapados Ferrer features a classic design with rich, vivid brown-orange colors that make the perfect backdrop for the black and boxwood pieces. This is an inlaid chessboard handcrafted from the highest quality veneer and sealed with a polyurethane finish that both protects and enhances the beauty of the wood. A triple-layer delimiter emphasizes the playing field while an extra wide frame adds a level of simple sophistication. The squares are 2.125 inch and the footprint of the board is 21.5 inch square. Four felt pads on the bottom will protect whatever furniture the board sits on. Our Classic Walnut Chess Box is wonderfully constructed and reminiscent of the old heirloom quality boxes from years ago.
